Conference Location

In the course of the 12th International Conference on Wirtschaftsinformatik in Osnabrück from March 4th through 6th, 2015 the three venues OsnabrückHall, Osnabrück Castle and EW-Building offer the ideal environment as well as state of the art assembly halls for keynotes, workshops, lectures and social get-togethers. Situated downtown, around the castle garden, all venues can easily be reached by foot.

OsnabrückHalle – central meeting point of the WI2015
The OsnabrückHalle, built 1979, has been energetically redecorated in 2013. New assembly halls, an impressive glass façade allowing for a free view on the castle garden as well as a clear and modern interior confer a special profile to the OsnabrückHalle. The event center is configured barrier-free and has an optimal traffic connection.

Its central position and great versatility make it an ideal venue. On an area of around 5,000 m², including 11 flexible conference facilities, the OsnabrückHalle provides place for up to 4.000 people. Hence, it insures optimal conditions for customized events such as meetings, congresses, seminars, concerts and social events.

Osnabrück Castle
Osnabrück Castle was constructed by Ernst August I. between 1669 and 1683 and served as residence for prince-bishops initially. It later became administrative headquarters and under National Socialism it partly served as prison and torture facility of the Gestapo. In 1974, the Osnabrück University moved into the baroque castle, and since then it hosts the president and the university administration.

During the WI 2015, the University’s auditorium and lecture rooms will be used at three levels.

EW-Building
The EW-Building is one of the central buildings for lectures at Osnabrück University. Within recent years, extensive reconstruction works rendered the outmoded building into a modern location for seminars and lectures. Among students, the building is particularly known for the EW-parties that build an inherent part of the student life.

In total, 12 lecture rooms are available on three floors and offer space for 1,250 guests.
